Session 1 (Ministerial)
Global Aviation: The Way Forward

A ministerial level session that will to provide a high level perspective on the role of Governments in creating an environment that nurtures and furthers this growth though policy initiatives and in setting the agenda for investments in infrastructure. The session also invites the various Ministers to share their experiences in their countries on challenges and opportunities, and how the sector contributes to overall economic growth.


Session 2
Aviation as a Driver of Economic Growth

Aviation is a key contributor towards the diversification of economy and the increase in air traffic requires improved infrastructure. This brings significant investment opportunities across the aviation ecosystem. This session will focus on private sector participants and their perspective on investment opportunities in aviation in the Kingdom and on the potential for Saudi to be a global logistics hub. The discussion to include opportunities as an investor, owner and operator of assets.


Session 3
Women in Aviation

Recently, The Kingdom has achieved multiple milestones in its efforts towards women empowerment. This session will highlight the growing professional opportunities for women, in general and aviation in particular . Prominent women of various technical and managerial roles (pilots, air navigation, ICAO, senior management), will share their personal experiences in discussing opportunities for women in aviation and on the sustainable development of human capital in the Kingdom.


Session 4
Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS): Safety of Low Altitude Air Traffic and its Integration with General Aviation

As the number of UAS is growing rapidly worldwide both for recreational and commercial applications, civil aviation authorities are working on UTM solutions that enables safe deployment of multiple UAS in the airspace. This session will focus on the safety related aspects of recreational and commercial UAS, and discuss on the future UTM model and an updating on UAV regulations. It also tackle safety-related topics such as on RPAS, USOAP CMA and RSOO in the region.


Session 5
Emerging Threats to Aviation Security and Potential Solutions

The session will focus on the emerging threats in the civil aviation sector such terrorist operations which target: air space, land side/ ground operations and cyberspace. This session will also follow-up on Riyadh Declaration 2016, discuss Regional developments and challenges related to aviation security, contribution of Saudi Arabia to aviation security (CASP-MID), the emerging threats, for example – UAS, and countermeasures, and the role of regulators in ensuring a secure environment.

Session 6
Role of Regional and International Aviation Organizations in Facilitating Growth

A discussion between the various international organizations within the context of the growth of air transport growth and the forecast for the Middle East as fastest growing region in the world. The session will focus on the key issues facing global aviation and key opportunities for the Kingdom. The session will include discussions on the regional developments and Contribution of Saudi Arabia to aviation and NCLB. It will also discuss the collaboration between various international organizations, harmonizing policies and on the role of these international organizations in addressing emerging threats in aviation security and safety.


Session 7
Enhancing the Passenger Experience

With the growth in air travel, airports are investing in improving their infrastructure and quality standards to improve service levels and operational efficiencies. This session discusses the role of CAAs in defining quality standards and to strengthen the solid collaboration between the various collaboration between the various airport entities to improve the overall passenger experience


Session 8
Next Generation Airports

Airports are redefining their basic functions as they embed smart technology across key touchpoints for their interactions with the passenger and across operational areas. This session will focus on how technology is reshaping the airport model of the future and resulting investment opportunities in building smart airports and improving airport operational, and discussions on digital solutions for some airport functions and on information sharing platforms that could support and improve airport operations quality.

Building Aviation Capabilities

The demand for trained aviation professionals (pilots, air traffic controllers, engineers, technicians, network and revenue management etc.) is increasing, regionally, and globally. This session will highlight the opportunities presented the growth in aviation, to invest in building skilled capability and in positioning the Kingdom as an aviation training hub
