Head of Italian Delegation
He has a 39 year career in the field of civil aviation where he has built a solid international experience and a widely recognized expertise.
With an academic background in Engineering, Mr. Sciacchitano quickly evolved into managerial leadership positions at the national level, reaching the position of Director General of the Italian Airworthiness Authority and then Director General of the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC), where he played an instrumental role in establishing the newly-founded structure, coordinating five strategic directorates gathering 1000 employees.
In this capacity, he has simultaneously been entrusted with several international mandates representing Italy in the management board of EUROCONTROL and EASA.
In 2010 he was appointed Executive Secretary of the European Civil Aviation conference (ECAC) until February 2019 when he was nominated head to the Italian delegation in the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
